Teacher PD Day on Friday, May 8th

There are no classes for students on Friday, May 8th as teachers have a professional development day on the topic of Twenty-First Century Learning.

School Clothing Order: Show your Pioneer Pride!

Please submit Progressive Pioneer Nomination Forms to the office no later than Friday, April 24th. No Classes for Students Friday, April 17th

There will be no classes for students on Friday, April 17th, as teachers will be involved with School Development Initiatives and Academic Interventions for at-risk students. Classes will resume on Monday April 20th (Day 3).

Public Exam Prep Program

The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District will be offering a 8 week Public Exam Preparation Program (PEPP) from April to June 2015. This program will be offered twice a week on Monday and Thursday evenings at Gonzaga High School, Smithville Crescent, St. John’s. Classes will begin after the Easter Break. Updated Student Handbook

The QE Student Handbook for 2014-2015 and the updated QE Code of Conduct have been posted in the “Useful Links” section on the left side of this page.


Congratulations to Jordan Mercer for placing 2nd overall in NL in the Royal Canadian Legion Coloured Poster Contest for Remembrance. Jordan will be awarded $100 and a Trip to Europe for an annual pilgrimage in June of this year which will include Beaumont-Hamel for Memorial Day celebrations. Awesome job!

School is closing due to local weather conditions – Wednesday, March 18th

Good afternoon. Due to local weather conditions and its impact on our roadways, QE is closing 30 minutes early. All afternoon activities are cancelled.

March 19th: Canadian Forces Reserves

On March 19, the Canadian Forces Reserves will be visiting our school. They will be setting up a display outside the school and our level II and III students will have an opportunity to see who the Canadian Forces Reserves are and what they have to offer in part-time employment.
