On Friday, March 27th, three Queen E students competed in the provincial Skills Canada competition in St. John’s and were very successful. All three won gold! Sarah Lomholt-Farrell (Baking), Jacob Manning (Job Skill Demonstration) and Steven Rideout (Workplace Safety) will now travel to Saskatoon on May 26th to compete in the National Skilled Trade competition.
Bullying is a major problem in our schools, workplaces, and homes. On February 25, 2015 we encourage all of you to wear something pink to symbolize that we as a society, and a school community will NOT tolerate bullying anywhere!!!!!

On Friday December 19 there will not be any canteen services and students will be dismissed at 12:15 PM. School will reopen on Monday January 5, 2015. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Our annual Holiday Concert will take place this coming Tuesday, December 16th, at 7pm in the school gymnasium. The concert will feature the choir, jazz, band, NL music group and improv group. Tickets are only $5 and can be bought at the door or from any music student.
Due to a School Development Day for teachers, there will be no classes for students on Friday, December 12.
Students will be dismissed at 11:40AM this morning to accommodate Parent Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be held today, December 4th, 1:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:30PM – 8:30pm.
The 3rd Annual Christmas at QE craft fair is this weekend on Sunday November 23 from 10-4pm. We are booked with over 75 vendors with a wide assortment of great products, it is the perfect opportunity to start, or finish, your holiday shopping. The breakfast program is looking for volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help serve a healthy breakfast option to over 100 students that avail of this free serve daily. Parents, service groups, retired persons or someone just looking to make a contribution.

The 29th Annual Darryl Reid Memorial High School Hockey Tournament, hosted by the Queen Elizabeth Pioneers, will be held this weekend. All games will take place at the Robert French Memorial Stadium in CBS. The opening ceremonies will take place on Friday, November 7, at 7:45pm.
