Come Celebrate the 50th Anniversary With Us

Queen Elizabeth Regional High School was officially opened in September, 1954. It was the first regional high school in the province of Newfoundland, consequently its insignia/symbol has been “Pioneers” to mark its trail-blazing status. The record of our high school over the 50 years, in terms of scholarships and athletics, has been impressive. The school’s contribution to its immediate community and, through its graduates to the wider community, has been significant.

For each month of the 2004-2005 school year, an anniversary committee is planning special assemblies, church services, sports events, dinners and dances, evenings of music and theatre to highlight this anniversary milestone.

If you are a student or served as staff of Queen Elizabeth Regional High School, we would like to hear from you and see you at one or more of our many events including the New Year’s Eve Gala 2004 and our special Come Home Week Festivities from July 11 – 15, 2005. We have also published a Memory Book, produced a Special Commemorative Print and have a host of other school memorabilia for sale to mark the anniversary.

The purpose of the anniversary year is to pay tribute to our school’s glorious past and to raise funds to assist the school by way of resources and scholarships for future Pioneers.
